Safeguarding & Wellbeing

At RIMU, the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to creating a secure, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, listened to, and supported.

Training

All members of our team receive regular safeguarding training and follow robust safeguarding procedures in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework. Our settings have trained Safeguarding Leads who work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure children’s welfare is always protected.

We believe safeguarding is a shared responsibility and work in close partnership with parents and carers to promote children’s wellbeing, emotional security, and development.

Inclusion & SEND

At RIMU, we believe every child deserves to feel valued, included, supported, and celebrated as an individual. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all children can thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally, regardless of their starting point or individual needs.Our child-centred approach recognises that children learn and develop in different ways and at different paces.

Through close observation, strong relationships, and responsive teaching, we work to identify and support children’s individual strengths, interests, and next steps from the earliest stages.We work closely with families and external professionals to ensure children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the appropriate support, care, and opportunities to flourish within our nursery environment. Our experienced team adapts learning experiences, environments, and daily routines to help every child feel confident, secure, and fully included in nursery life.

Each setting has trained SEND practitioners who work alongside educators and families to support communication, emotional wellbeing, social development, and early intervention where needed. We believe in building strong partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring support is collaborative, consistent, and tailored to each child’s individual needs.
